Clubs
This is a list of clubs offered at Hunters Lane HS as of July 2025.
ACT Prep Club
Students will be engaged in daily ACT questions and one-on-one assistance with analyzed as well as personalized “tips and tricks” from Mr. Proffitt.
Anime Club
Students will discuss current anime, recommend new shows, discuss different topics such as themes, character changes, or differences between cultures. Students can also discuss about school or life related topics.
A&P/Med Terms Duel Enrollment Prep
Come get additional help with your A&P and Med Terms Duel Enrollment work!
AP/IB/EE/Capstone Tutoring
This session is to provide academic support for students needing help with those program areas. It will be used for academic intervention in those areas as well as for advising meetings for EE/Capstone students.Tutoring for the Capstone Project, IB Extended Essay, or AP Exams from 10:10-10:30; does not meet on Fridays
AP World History Tutoring
Students will use this time to study and prepare for the AP World History exam. Come get one-on-one help with Mr. Knowles
Art Studio
Students may come and work on artwork for class or create new artwork of their own. Mr. Mast will be available to help you refine your skills and create artwork.
Band
Students may use this time to practice, perform, or try a new instrument.
Battle of the Books
We will be gathering a team to participate in Battle of the Books this year. We would probably meet once a month to start, and then increase meetings as we get closer to the actual competition.
Best Buddies Club
Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Biology Tutoring
Tutoring for Biology students.
Blaze Mentoring
Sponsored by the Nashville Fire Department, this mentoring program is geared towards discussing various topics and culminates with the opportunity to earn the BLAZE Scholarship at the end of their senior year.
Board Game Club
Do you like playing board games? How about winding down and relieving stress with a nice puzzle? Come join us to take part in some old fashioned fun games!
Brass Band Club
This is when the brass from the band will meet to have sectionals. We will also be starting a jazz band in the spring, so we would like to transition this club into the jazz club after marching band is complete
CAS
If you're interested in community service, then this is the club for you. Here we generate community service projects for the school, IB and students who need ideas for college applications.
Chemistry Club
Chemistry students can receive extra help and/or complete retesting during this time.
Choir Club
Meeting time for section leaders in choir (who are the members chamber choir) to practice and discuss how sections are doing, possibly run social media (with my posting), etc.
Cheer Club
We want to support our Warriors and this time is for extra practice for the varsity and JV cheer squads!
Chess Club
No matter your level, novice to master, our chess club is a welcoming environment where you can improve your skill and enjoy a good game.
College Club
Students will complete college applications, write resumes, research scholarships and apply to "Schools" of their choice. They will also be monitored on meeting deadlines. College and job readiness skills will be explored.
Debate Club
Student-organized debates and discussion for students who like a good argument.
DECA
DECA is a club associated with our Marketing classes, but is open to all students. Students have the opportunity to travel to leadership trainings and competitions focused on the areas of Marketing & Business.
Designers Success Club
Students in the Academy of Design and Technology will use this time to catch up on make-up work, serve lunch detention, and get extra help.
Digital Design Club
If you are interested in digital art and learning to use Photoshop, this club is the place for you. Mr. Sherry will guide you through some cool tips/tricks to using Photoshop and making digital works of art. Students will use this time to prepare for the dual credit exam in Digital Design with Mr. Sherry.
Drama Club
An opportunity for students to come watch musicals or discuss current theatre happenings at HLHS or in the world.
Edgenuity Credit Recovery
A chance for all students to complete credit or content recovery.
ELL Tutoring
Club is available for any English Language Learner who needs help with one of his/her classes or who just wants to get more small group practice with English.

Fantasy Sports Club
We are a student organization dedicated to bringing together lovers and newcomers alike to the beautiful world of fantasy sports. Whether you've been playing fantasy for years or just want to learn the game, you'll find a home in Fantasy Sports Club. Compete in leagues inside the club and meet weekly to discuss the week in fantasy sports and participate in other fun games. Never played before and want to see what all the fuss is about? We'll show you the ropes. Come see why this crazy little game is taking the nation by storm.
Film Club
We will watch culturally important and critically acclaimed films that pioneered a genre or the way in which cinema is done.
French Club
French club provides help with class work/homework and cultural extensions to all students that love the French language and culture.
Freshman Success Club
Freshman Academy students will use this time to catch up on work, serve lunch detention, and get extra help.
Girls Inc.
This club is for girls that wish to discuss important social issues and raise awareness on these issues.
GSA
Gay, Straight Alliance is a National Club that promotes equal treatment for all students. Agendas for the meetings are student driven, community centered, and a club that is a positive ally for all students. This club goes beyond Gay issues in our school and is a club for all students who want to make a difference in how people are treated.
HHS/IB Academy Success Club
Students in the Academy of Health and Human Services and IB will use this time to catch up on work, serve lunch detention, and get extra help.
HOSA
Health Occupation Students of America is the club associated with our Health Science classes in our Academy of Health & Human Services, but all students are welcome to join. Students listen to speakers from a variety of health related fields, learn leadership skills, and compete in Health Science related competitions.
Homework Help Club
This club provides a quiet place for students to work one on one with a teacher and get help with homework.
IB Art Club
Each IB art senior will use this time to create amazing portfolios to submit to IB. IB juniors are invited to join as well to start on their portfolios and help with the process.
IB EE Tutoring
IB students can come to Mr. Proffitt for help with their IA's, EE's or any other IB work they need to get completed.
IB English Study Hall
Students can come have a quiet space to work, collaborate with other students, and get help on IB assignments.
IB History Tutoring
IB students can come to Mr. Knowles for help with their IA's, history work, or any other IB work they need to get completed.
IB Theatre Tutoring
IB students can come to Ms. Boze for help with their IA's, EE's or any other IB work they need to get completed.
Intramural Sports
Do you have energy to burn? Join the open gym program which involves a variety of sports and activities.
JROTC Drill and Ceremony Club
JROTC students learning advanced marching, drill and ceremony procedures /// chess club where the game is taught and played.
Lego Masters Club
Students can come to Ms. Bolan's class (Room 133) during lunch and do different building/engineering challenges with Legos!
Madden/2K Club
Participate in our annual Madden/ NBA2K tournaments with the chance to win real prizes!
Magnates Success Club
Academy lunch detention/study hall. To benefit students who need time to make up assignments, tests, or receive additional help.
Math Tutoring
From IM I to IM III, any math student needing extra time or extra help will find a tutoring session for them. Our Alg I and II students have access to computer lab to work on their computer based Algebra program.
Meditation Club
During lunch we will listen to calming music, keeps lights low, and do a daily 5-10 meditation mantra. It will be a calm, quiet place for students to come decompress during lunch.
Mindfulness Club
Empowering students to be their very best selves takes a holistic approach. Mindfulness lesson plans for high school students help to develop the social-emotional skills needed to live a happy and healthy life.
National Honor Society
An international club for high achieving students who are also focused on improving their school, community, and world.
News and Social Justice Roundtable
Circle discussions will be held concerning current events and how they affect our students.
Photography Club
Do you love taking pictures? Are you insta-crazy? The purpose of this club is to promote creativity through photography, to share and critique the photographs of peers, to educate and improve technical skills, and to spread the love of photography throughout the Hunters Lane community.
Ping Pong Club
Located on the girls PE hall. Students will have the opportunity to play or learn to play if they don't know how.
Puzzle Club
Come test your ability to solve a multitude of puzzles!
Recording Studio
Use the HLHS recording studio to work on projects and receive one-on-one feedback from Mr. Gay.
Robotics Club
Students will create and build robots to complete specific tasks with the intention of competing.
SDC Stats Tutoring
Option for students that are behind in SDC Stats are able to catch up.
Student Government Association (SGA)
Club for the Hunters Lane Student Council where students will pick prom theme, help plan school dances and events, and other important functions of the school government.
Softball Club
Softball club is for anyone interested in participating or learning more about the sport. Once softball season starts, it can be a place for team building activities and conversations. Some days I could also offer for girls who have made the team to come to the batting cages.
Spanish Tutoring
Tutoring for Spanish students of any level.
Speech Team
This club is to have more time to practice competitive pieces.
Student Athletic Board
The HLHS Student Athletic Board is all about improving the athletic experience for athletes and students. If you want to help organize our student section and color coordinate for games, help make suggestions for improving the athletic experience, and improve Hunters Lane Athletics, then this is the club for you! You do not have to be an athlete to join!
TikTok Dance Club
Do you want a quiet place to learn new TikTok Dances? This is the club for you. Join us in room 231 on B Days to learn and teach others!
Walk/Run Club
The club is designed for those students who want to walk for fitness.
Warrior Clothing Shop
Stop by the Warrior Clothing Store to buy Hunters Lane apparel that is SSA approved!
World History/Geography Tutoring
Freshmen students will have the opportunity to check grades, receive missing assignments and review concepts that have not been mastered in their History/ Geography class. The classroom will also be open for ANY student who wishes to complete other assignments or simply eat lunch.
Yoga
Students can use this time to practice their yoga, meditation or mindfulness skills in a calming quiet environment with Ms. Cunningham.
